Fanny, the copper column still at Fanny's Distillery

First Release: Green Monkey Single Malt Whisky

Every whisky distillery has one release it makes people wait for. For us, it was always going to be the single malt. Rye and single grain came first, partly practicality, partly patience, but Green Monkey Single Malt Whisky is now in bottle. We think it was worth the wait.

It's distilled from Golden Promise malted barley, the same variety prized by classic Scottish distilleries for its clean, slightly sweet character, and matured in oak on site above Haworth. On the nose and palate it's pungent and complex: sour fruit and spice first, a whisper of smoke underneath, then honey, nuts, ginger and peach carrying through to a long, warming finish.

As with the rest of the range, the process starts with our own water. Fanny, our Arnold Holstein copper column still, does the distilling. A well sunk 1,000 feet into the limestone beneath the distillery supplies the water. It's a detail that's easy to overlook and hard to replicate.

The whisky has already picked up a Silver Medal at the World Whisky Masters and 91 points, also Silver, at the London Spirits Competition 2025. Not a bad start for a first release. Full tasting notes, awards and the Amazon buy link are on the product page, and you'll find it alongside our rye and single grain on the whisky page.
